Before I became a Graphic Designer. Way before. I applied to be in the High-school Publications class. I was denied for poor grades. Heartbroken, because I all wanted to do was take photos, I went home in tears. My Dad suggested that I take a course at the local Community College in Photography over the summer (I was going to be a sophomore the next year). I did it and I never put down the camera. I advocate now for young people to continue their creative careers even when against odds and often overlooked. I am forever grateful to learn from so many other photographers.
I do not doubt that if you’re reaching out for our photoshoot together, you are not only in the middle of a transition but embarking on a huge transformation. This time shared - is what you are transforming. As a spiritual care provider, I am along for the ride. And as an artist, I intend to see you from a place of refuge, exploration, and healing.
